Understanding Potential

EVERYONE HAS A PURPOSE AND EVERYONE HAS POTENTIAL. YOUR PURPOSE IS DIRECTLY CORRELATED TO YOUR POTENTIAL.

POTENTIAL is untapped power, hidden strength, unused ability or dormant power.

Based on the above definition, Potential can primarily be seen as:

  1. Who you are, but no one knows yet
  2. What you can do but haven’t done yet and
  3. How far you can go, but haven’t gone yet

The prophet Jeremiah in Jeremiah 1:4, God determined his purpose before he was in his mother’s womb – And based on that purpose, potential was placed in him. Like Jeremiah, you were born for a purpose and were given potential to fulfill that purpose. If you die without fulfilling that purpose, you have bankrupted your generation and humanity as a whole.

UNDERSTANDING POTENTIAL IS UNDERSTANDING GOD HIMSELF
God is not only a God of potential, He is potential He is OMNIPOTENT!!!
Omnipotent is made up of two words; “Omni” – all or everything, it means always ALL, “Potent” – power, ability, and strength. Omnipotent therefore means all potential. If you met God before creation, you would have shook hands with everything.  If God created everything, then everything was in Him.

Let’s reflect on these few bible characters: Moses was a man wanted for murder, but inside the murderer God hid Genesis through Deuteronomy. Rahab was a professional prostitute, but inside Rahab was the lineage of Jesus Christ. David was a shepherd boy, an adulterer and a murderer, but inside him was the greatest king of all time known as the darling boy of Israel. Paul was a serial killer, but trapped in the serial killer was 2/3 of the New Testament.
Ladies and gentlemen, it doesn’t matter what you go through, God will not discard you. Why? Because Christ didn’t just die for you; he died for what’s trapped in you.

Potential is what God hides in a person when he gives them to the world. Your disappointments or the not-so proud moments of your life do not negate the fact that there is so much potential in you that needs to be realized. That’s why you don’t look down on people because you never know what they are filled with. Abraham Lincoln, when his sweetheart died ended up in an asylum.  What people didn’t know was that inside that insane man was one of the greatest presidents of all time. That’s why you should never look down on anyone because they are full of potential.

If you’re an alcoholic, that’s just a fact… If you’re a divorcee, divorce is just an event … If you have failed, failure is temporary, you still have potential meaning there’s still greatness trapped in you.  If you have backslidden, get back up, you have potential to fulfill your assignment. Your potential is defined by your purpose. You are not a mistake; you have potential to fulfill your destiny. Go for it and I will see you at the top. ???

I look forward to hearing your thoughts and reflections on this and what you consider potential to be. Also, are you aware of your full potentials yet?

Jesus died for you, live for Him!

I’ll leave you for now. If we don’t meet again, I hope to see you at the dinner table in Papa’s house.
